5 Things You Absolutely Need To Pack For Your Disney World Trip
Whether it’s your first trip to Disney World or your hundredth, there is no telling what you’ll need for your big day. Trying to decide what you should and shouldn’t pack for your Disney World trip can be intimidating. If you overpack, you’ll be hauling around a heavy backpack all day. Whereas, if you under pack, you are more than likely to find yourself missing that one thing you forgot to bring.
In order to feel moderately prepared for your Disney World trip, we decided to fill you in on the five things we have the found the most common or the most necessary for your magical day adventures. Here are 5 things you absolutely need to pack for your Disney World trip.
Waterproof bags are something that most people don’t think to pack for Disney World. Either that, or they are unwilling because—her—when are you ever going to use these again? However, we strongly recommend buying these, especially if you’re going on your Disney World trip during the summer.
Waterproof bags will keep your tickets, cash, and cell phones protected at all costs. Even if you don’t go on water rides, you never know when Florida will have one of its famous unexpected rainstorms. Having these in your backpack will be a welcoming commodity in either of these cases.
Nearly every big group or family gathering is going to bring custom shirts for at least one day at Disney. And it’s not a bad thing either. Actually, it’s pretty smart. This makes it easier to keep track of your kids in Disney’s massive crowds. And we all know how hard it is to keep a group together. As long as you can spot your lime green “Smith’s Family Vacation” t-shirts, at least you can have a general idea of where everyone is at.
You can get custom t-shirt designs made from online retailers. Most will even offer discounts for larger orders. These can simultaneously serve as memorabilia for your special Disney day outing, whether it’s for a girl’s trip, family reunion, or school field trip. Whatever it is, you’ll want to pack these for your Disney World vacation.
Mini umbrellas may seem like a hassle to carry around, but you’ll thank us for it once it starts to downpour. Sure, Disney offers ponchos and their own customized umbrellas, but are you really willing to fork out $15-25 dollars for these? You can get mini umbrellas at places like Walmart or Target. And they’re so compact that they will fit easily into your backpack.
Believe it or not, you can actually pack your own snack to bring into Disney World. You can even bring your own water. Disney is well aware of that mid-afternoon hunger strike, and they especially want their guests to keep hydrated. According to the Disney Blog:
“Guests are allowed to bring food items—such as snacks or foods that do not require heating—into Disney theme parks. Inform a Security Cast Member of any food items when you enter the park.”
People may frown on the use of cell phones at places like Disney World, but how else are you going to savor those memories? Make sure you bring a portable charger (or two) in your suitcase for when your phone inevitably runs low. You’ll need your cell phone for several things such as checking the weather, the ride wait times, and probably to call an Uber back to your hotel. It’s hard to find charging stations at Disney, and with a portable charger, you’ll be able to be on the go. After all, you don’t want to waste a second of this magical day.
